Parent Involvement ~ What can I do?

Kasson-Mantorville Elementary recognizes that parents are an integral part of students’ educational programming.  There are many ways for parents to be involved in our schools and programs. We have developed a plan for involving the families of students who receive Title I support.  There will be meetings twice a year where families may learn about and give input into the Title I program. Strategies for supporting students at home are presented at these meetings, and families are surveyed in order to determine helpful topics. By becoming an active participant in the Title I parent involvement plan at your school, you will:
  • Serve as a role model, showing your student that you support his/her education.
  • Assure that you are aware of your student’s educational progress; thereby demonstrating how important that progress is to you.
  • Teach your student that your input at the school is appreciated and that you support its efforts.

Parent Involvement Plan:

Our Parent Involvement Plan will be reviewed annually at parent meetings.  Current versions of the plans are found here in PDF form:

Parent Advisory Committee:

Families of students receiving Title I support are invited to be part of the Title I Parent Advisory Committee.  Interested parents should sign up to join this committee at the fall Title I Family Meeting.  This group would meet if there were to be changes to the program in order to give input and feedback in the planning process.  If you would like to participate on this committee, please contact Jana Southwick at (507)-634-1234 or by email at j.southwick@komets.k12.mn.us. ;
