Hello! My name is Megan Melhouse, I am one of the 1st grade teacher at Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School. Teaching is my passion. I strive to create equal opportunities for all learners with individualized student-centered learning everyday. I love to teach students skills that will lead them in the path of life-long learning. This year I cannot wait to get to know your child, make memories, and have fun!
A little bit about me...
I graduated from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood. I then went on to be a substitute for a half a year. This will be my fifth year teaching at Kasson-Mantorville. I am also a member of the PTA and a trained Responsive Classroom teacher. This will be my fourth year as a teacher in first grade. My first year at KMES I was a ADSIS teacher - teaching reading and math as an interventionist. With this background I really enjoy small group learning and being able to individualize learning for all students. When I am not at school I am with my family. We live in a small town not too far away, Kenyon, MN. My husband Derek and I love to spend time with our daughter Winslow and our puppy Bosko. We love to go on walks, play outside, and read books together.
