Photo of Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School prides itself in its high student achievement and safe and respectful learning environment. We are highly ranked in the state of Minnesota for our academic student achievement. The Minnesota Department of Education has named KMES a 2012 and 2013 Minnesota Reward School, a status given to the top performing schools in the state. KMES also received the prestigious Minnesota School of Excellence Award. Our Project Lead The Way Program has been awarded the PLTW Distinguished School award five years in a row. We are the only elementary school in Minnesota with this track record of excellence in engineering instruction. In addition, our KoMet PRIDE Program, which promotes a safe and respectful learning environment, was recognized with a Minnesota Promising Practice Award in 2014.

Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School provides students with a vibrant environment that is flexible and inspires learning and creativity. Our curriculum features an integrated approach to learning that promotes connections to the real world and emphasizes a strong reading, math and science focus. Interactive technology is woven into instruction in curricular areas.  Our instruction is tailored to meet the varied needs of each student. Math and science areas are activity-based with a "hands-on" approach. Students engage in 21st Century Learning Skills through our new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiative, Project Lead the Way. Our comprehensive literacy program recognizes the unique literacy needs of individual students. We guide students through effective core reading instruction, small group guided reading, and prescribed reading interventions.

We believe all students deserve equitable access to an engaging and rigorous education. As a school, we make data part of our on-going cycle of instructional improvement for both teachers and students. In addition to the regular curriculum, we offer Project Lead the Way, art, music, media and physical education. These programs help our students develop creativity and self-expression.

Kasson-Mantorville Schools is dedicated to its stakeholders and provides effective communication in order to promote high academic achievement and create a community-wide partnership. We truly believe that aligning our efforts in all subject areas at school, at home and in the community will only strengthen the foundations of our students, increase the rate of their achievement and encourage them to be lifelong learners.

Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School is helping each child develop academically, socially, emotionally, and physically in a safe, respectful and student oriented environment that includes parents as partners in the learning process. KMES to be the premier elementary school in the state of Minnesota, known for high academic standards and quality programs for students. Kasson-Mantorville Elementary is a great place to learn and teach! We are Committed to Excellence in all that we do!
